Trails clear of ice storm debris
Devastating ice storm occurred December 14-15, 2022.
We hired heavy equipment that operated December 26-28 to remove extensive ice storm debris and open 40% of our East Side trails. On January 12, the Rusk County Forestry Department used a large backhoe to clear tree debris from Excelsior Road (West Side). In early February our volunteers cleared trees on the East Side from the Rut Road and Washout trails from 15-20-21-22-24-25.
More tree clearing is being done in stages this spring/summer/fall. Highlighted sections on the two maps below show open trails - trails where downed trees have been removed.
Maps updated September 1, 2023.
